Hotel Terms and Conditions

Check In and Out

Check in is after 2pm and check out is before 11am. The exceptions are for Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart and Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville where check in is after 3pm, and Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland City / Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston where checkout is before 10am.

Age requirements; please note that the minimum check-in age is 18 and Photo ID is required. We cannot accommodate guests under this age staying without parents or legal guardians.

Cancellations and No-shows

Cancellations terms are subject to the terms of the booking that has been made – please check these details carefully when booking, as some rates may be fully chargeable at the time of booking and non-refundable.

Should a guest fail to arrive, a ‘no-show’ fee of one night’s accommodation will be charged. Please also check the rate terms when booking in case there are any variations to this standard procedure.

Payment

Please note that the hotel reserves the right to take a pre-authorisation on a supplied credit card upon check-in. This pre-authorisation may restrict available funds from the supplied card up to the value of the pre-authorisation. The hotel also reserves the right to increase this pre-authorisation during your stay should the hotel deem it necessary. If a credit card is unable to be provided, full accommodation and a cash security bond are required at the time of check-in. The value of this may vary from hotel to hotel.

When checking in, a guest registration form is requested to be signed whereby you will need to agree to the following terms: "I agree that my liability for this account is not waived and agree to be held personally responsible in the event that the indicated person, company or associate fails to pay for any part of the full amount of the invoice charges accrued during my stay. The Hotel is authorized to charge the Credit Card supplied or the account utilised for any other undeclared or unsettled charges incurred during my stay."

Please carefully check the rate terms when booking, as some rates may require full pre-payment when booking, otherwise all Hotels require full payment whilst staying at the property, unless a credit facility has been arranged and authorised prior to the visit.

Cards accepted include: American Express, Diners Club, Visa, MasterCard and Debit Cards. Please note that payments made by credit card will incur a credit card surcharge at all Australian and New Zealand Hotels. Credit card surcharges will range between 1.05% - 3.60% dependent upon the card and property it is being used at, equivalent to the credit card provider costs incurred.

Responsibility of Valuables

No responsibility is accepted by the hotel, its servants or agents for articles of value which are not placed in a safe deposit box at the front desk. These are available free of charge. We are not responsible for articles left in rooms or motor vehicles.
