Hotel Grand Central first opened its doors in 1968 and closed for redevelopment in 2012. The transformation took longer, but it is definitely ready in May 2015.
During the two-year hiatus we have deconstructed, reconstructed and rejuvenated. We have a new bone structure, new skin and of course, we are going to offer a brand new experience.
The hotel facilities incorporate the latest technologies to deliver excellent service in an environmentally sustainable manner. The whole hotel is wired to provide Wi-Fi access. The rooms are designed with large windows to allow natural light to filter through, but heat is kept out using heat reflective and double glazing glass.
The hotel building is Greenmark certified and its green efforts include installation of LED lighting, sensor lighting and using equipment and fittings that are green ticked. Every room is also equipped with an energy saving filtered water dispenser. This allows guests to consume water without wasting a single plastic bottle.
Last but not least, we are also green-ticking our service. You will notice there are no printed papers in your room. All information is available electronically on the TV via our In-Room Concierge. Read messages left to you by your friends there or check your bill status online, all in the comfort of your room.
